From heartthrob to ‘problematic’: Netizens furious over Israel Broussard’s insensitive tweets

The well-received premiere of the movie “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” on Netflix easily catapulted its cast to fame. But just when the movie’s actors and actresses were supposed to enjoy the limelight, Israel Broussard, who played Josh in the film, found himself in hot water not long after. The actor was criticized online for his old tweets from previous years, which suggested that he was a racist, homophobic, and a Trump supporter, among others.

The actor has already apologized via a tweet. However, as far as those who adored him in the movie (and later found out about the tweets) are concerned, he’s “cancelled.” Here are some netizen reactions:
