Imagine waking up to the smell of chocolate wafting through the air, and everywhere you turn, there’s delectable sweetness waiting for you. No, you’re not dreaming. A cottage made out of chocolate exists, and you can actually rent it.
According to Booking.com, the cottage was designed and manufactured by Jean-Luc Decluzeau, the renowned artisan chocolatier who specializes in chocolate sculptures. This unique, 18-square-meter chocolate cottage is crafted out of approximately 1.5 tons of chocolate. Accommodating up to four guests, those lucky enough to secure the cottage will enjoy a decadent, delicious night, surrounded by chocolate treats in every corner.
The travel website announced over the weekend that guests can reserve their stay at a life-size Chocolate Cottage at L’Orangerie de la Manufacture in Sèvres, France, for a nightly rate of only 50€ or about $59.
“I never thought I’d have the opportunity to build a life-size Chocolate Cottage for travelers to sleep in!” Decluzeau, Master Chocolatier said in a statement. “I’m excited to collaborate with Booking.com and to share my passion for chocolate. I hope guests will relish the chance to experience such a sweet and unique place to stay.”
Custom chocolate details inside the cottage include everything from the walls and roof to the fireplace, dresser, clock, cups, books and even a chocolate chandelier. The chocolate extravaganza extends outside the cottage to a white chocolate duck pond and an incredible flowerbed made entirely (you guessed it) all out of chocolate. And the good news for diehard chocoholics is that many of the delectable items in the cottage are actually edible, at least by those lucky enough to stay the night.
When they say everything is made of chocolate, they mean EVERYTHING.
