The buzz around the upcoming Marvel film “Avengers: Infinity War” is deafening as the most-awaited movie will be released in theaters soon. On April 25, fans will finally see the culmination of the Marvel superheroes’ adventures since 2008. And as early as now, various spoilers and theories about what will actually happen in the film abound. Here are the major things we could expect from ‘Infinity War.’
It’s the longest Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movie yet
This may not be juicy info, but it’s good to know so you can come prepared before sitting for at least two hours and 36 minutes in the theaters. Yep, you’ll be burning holes in your seats for almost three hours when you watch the film, but we’re pretty sure you’ll find it worthwhile if you’re a big Marvel fan. Imagine seeing 30 heroes in one scene, as revealed by Scarlett Johansson. Now that’s Marvelgasm!
Thanos and Thor are the film’s major stars
According to Joe Russo, one of the film’s directors, Thanos and Thor will have the most screen time in the film. Thanos getting much of the spotlight in “Avengers: Infinity War” is understandable, since it’s basically about his quest to complete the Infinity Stones. However, Thor standing out among the Avengers is somehow a surprise as he never seemed that important in the previous “Avengers” films. This time though, Russo revealed that Thor has an “important arc in the film.”
One of the major superheroes will die
This is also a given since the film will feature virtually all of Marvel’s superheroes; after all, it’s not believable if all of them survive in the end. The question though is who among them will fall. Russo revealed that the casualty is a choice among Tony Stark (Iron Man), Steve Rogers (Captain America), Natasha Romanov (Black Widow) and Bruce Banner (The Hulk). There are various theories stating that Captain America will be the one to die, while others suggest that Vision will succumb to Thanos since the villain is after the Mind Stone, which is currently with Vision.
Doctor Strange’s Time Stone could revive dead heroes
If ever a Marvel hero does die, some fan theories suggest that Doctor Strange will be able to use the Time Stone to bring them back. However, obviously, he won’t be able to save everyone.
The Infinity Stones spell Thanos’ name
It’s widely speculated that all the Infinity Stones spell Thanos’ name. So far there’s the Tesseract, Aether, Necklace, Orb, and Scepter, which leaves out only the letter H if the theory is correct. There are various theories that suggest that the last stone, the Soul Stone, may be connected to the letter H. A lot of fans speculate that the Soul Stone may be with Heimdall. Others say it could have been with Howard Stark, the father of Tony Stark. While others suggest that it could be with Hela, the Goddess of Death who’s the villain in “Thor: Ragnarok.”
Two Sherlocks in an unlikely pairing
In case you haven’t realized, the two actors who played Sherlock Holmes will be together in “Avengers: Infinity War.” Robert Downey Jr. played Sherlock in movies, while Benedict Cumberbatch also played the character in a TV series. Director Russo said that Iron Man and Doctor Strange’s pairing in the movie is something to look forward to. “It’s a somewhat contentious clash of egos, but very interesting and it has a big impact on the story,” he said.
The Avengers will be divided into three teams
According to High Snobiety, the Avengers will be divided into Team Wakanda, Team Space, and Team Yellow Planet. Team Wakanda will reportedly be made up of Captain America, Scarlet Witch, Black Widow, and Bird Man. Team Space will consist of “Guardians of the Galaxy” characters Gamora, Groot, and Rocket plus Thor. While Team Yellow will reportedly include Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, and Iron Man.
The film will serve as the ending of the first book of Avengers
As we previously mentioned, “Avengers: Infinity War” is the “culmination of everything” since the 2008 Marvel movie, which is Iron Man. This is the Avengers’ greatest battle yet, and what happens in the end as well as who survives and who dies after the battle with Thanos is definitely something to look forward to. Although the Avengers’ story will continue in future films, this movie will end an 11-year story and will serve as an ending of the superheroes’ first chapter and the beginning of the next.
