Martin Nguyen, one of ONE Championship’s two-division champion, will make a quick return to the cage as he’s set to defend his featherweight title in Singapore this May.
The 29-year-old Nguyen, coming off a decision loss to Bibiano Fernandes in Bangkok last March, will face off against the highly-touted Christian Lee in the co-main event of “ONE: Unstoppable Dreams” on May 18. Nguyen losing to Fernandes snapped his six-fight win streak, which includes a first-round submission victory over Lee in their first outing.
On the other hand, Lee, the younger brother of women’s atomweight titleholder Angela Lee, earned a shot for the belt after emerging victorious in four straight fights – all by way of stoppage. A former Pankration World Champion, Lee toppled Japanese veteran Kazunori Yokota in his most recent bout, winning via second-round guillotine choke to improve his professional record to 9-1.
Angela Lee, meanwhile, makes her highly-anticipated return to action to defend her title against Japanese veteran Mei “V.V” Yamaguchi in a rematch in the night’s other big match.
