New Year, new look: Here are hairstyles that will trend in 2018

Out with the old, and in with the new as they always say. Greeting 2018 brings an air of a fresh start, and with that, you just might be feeling the urge to change up both your look and outlook in life. 2018 is going to be all about embracing natural, no-fuss styles with fresh, interesting haircuts. In short, effortlessly standing out is the theme of the year, whether or not you’re looking for something drastic or just a subtle change. Here are some styles you can cop for your new look:

Textured bob

If you’re always on the go, this hairstyle is definitely for you. It’s a minimalist bob style that has textures and layers, which looks simple and easy. It won’t take much of your time when you prep your hair. All you need is a good hair spray or mousse to apply on the tips of your hair to make the textures visible.

For the adventurous types, Pantone’s color of the year is a great choice. In an interview with NYLON, Hannah Edelman, colorist at Brush In Hand Hair Studio, predicts it being a favorite for its versatility. “Reminiscent of freshly bloomed flowers, ultra violet hair falls right in line with spring’s floral trends. It offers a ton of flexibility, either by going richer, lighter, more blue, more pink, or muted—all of which can accommodate different levels of hair. There’s a version for everyone!” she says. You can either go full-out purple or just have ombre undertones.

Long pixie

This is definitely a no-fuss look, and it can create a flattering frame for your face. It can be styled in several ways: make it wavy, tousled, textured or sleek and straight.

Micro bangs

It’s all about the bangs this year, but micro bangs are getting quite a lot of buzz. Literally. Traditional bangs brush the eyebrows, but micro-bangs are typically cut an inch or so shorter. Celebrities like Emma Roberts, Bella Hadid, Emma Watson, and Alison Sudol were spotted on the red carpet sporting short, blunt bangs.

Deep Side Part

This style is seen on a lot of models on the runways and it will add a classic touch to your hair whether it’s long or short.

Long and wispy

Instead of the usual straight, smooth and long hair, this year is all about the natural waves and wisps. It adds some fun to any look and keeps hair from looking flat and boring.
