This cafe in Seoul will make you feel like you’re in a cartoon world

Unlike many cafes that have typical themes like minimalist, rustic chic, or the ubiquitous industrial designs, the inspiration for Cafe Yeonnam-dong 239-20 in Seoul is quite out of the ordinary. It’s out of this world, in fact. Its design takes after the concept of the Korean drama “W Two Worlds,” starring heartthrob Lee Jong Suk. The story follows the life of a rich, handsome and successful man whose life seems perfect, until he discovers that he lives inside a manhwa (Korean comic book) and transitions into the real world. Cafe Yeonnam-dong illustrates this world literally through a 2D design that looks like a cartoon once you step inside and take photos. Everything from the walls, furniture, decor, to the coffee cups are designed like a black and white comic strip. Even the cutlery looks hand-drawn.
